Stay in shape with fitness tips from victoria's secret models

Men aren't the only ones who appreciate the beauty of Victoria's Secret models. While flipping through a Victoria's Secret catalog on the couch or catching a beautiful ad on the Internet while laughing at funny pix on a humor website, women also admire the flawless bodies of the lingerie models — insomuch that women would do anything to emulate that level of physical perfection.

Although physical imperfections and unique, individual characteristics are what make women truly beautiful, a few tips and tricks from supermodels couldn't hurt as women strive to enhance their natural beauty. Tone your figure by following the fitness secrets of top Victoria's Secret models such as Brazilian beauty Alessandra Ambrosio and golden-haired supermodel Erin Heatherton.

High-Octane Short Workouts.

Blonde supermodel Erin Heatherton told Vogue.com that for her three-times-a-week workout, she and her trainer, Lynn Duffy, focus on high-octane workouts that last for 30 minutes. To replicate Heatherton's intense workouts, include five-minute intervals on the treadmill; switch between sprinting and speed walking at an incline. High-octane, intense training maximizes your workouts, calorie burn and muscle building.

Yoga.

Both Heatherton and Ambrosio turn to yoga to get toned, loosen up, stay lean and calm down. Wide-eyed beauty Lindsay Ellingson also hits her yoga studio twice a week for vinyasa yoga sessions. Vinyasa flow is a type of yoga that involves a series of poses as well as synchronized inhaling and exhaling. Flow releases toxins, re-energizes and relaxes the mind, which will help you adopt the fresh-faced, glowing looks of these drop-dead gorgeous runway models.

Dance Classes.

For anyone who never lasts longer than a minute while running on a treadmill, bust a move to upbeat music in hop hop dance or Zumba classes. Ellingson hits up her gym's hip hop classes every two weeks to keep her workouts non-serious and varied. Shape.com explains that Zumba workout classes are designed to successfully burn fat, engage muscles, have fun and shape specific problem areas on the body. For the average person, between 400 and 600 calories are burned, according to LiveStrong.com.

Core Work & Strength Training.

Although cardio helps improve physical endurance and burn calories, strength training builds and increases lean muscle mass, which helps with long-term weight management and body sculpting. Bombshells Ellingson and Candice Swanepoel focus on muscle toning with weight lifting and routine strength training. Crunches and sit-ups are also core-sculpting workout basics that the supermodels, stars and professional trainer Justin Gelband incorporate into workout routines.

Toning and working out is only part of the equation though. What are these models' hot-body diet secrets? Reported by NYMag.com, Brazilian model and Maybelline spokesmodel Adriana Lima divulges that she "goes on a liquid diet nine days before a show." Ambrosio also relies on green juice, adding that she couldn't imagine not eating. Whether you choose to skip that second cookie or check out your gym's Zumba class, every small effort to stay healthy counts.
